One of Lane’s personal favorites, this abstract figurative work pays tribute to two worlds that shaped him — the cowboy traditions of his Northeast Texas upbringing and the spirited creativity of his life in New Orleans.
With bold, interpretive lines and an intentionally abstracted form, “Bourbon Cowboy” leaves space for emotional interpretation. The figure suggests strength and swagger, but also fluidity and imagination — much like the real characters who walk Bourbon Street or ride Texas rodeos.
